How a year with us works

Five simple steps, no pressure.

  1. Text to schedule a call

Text Ms. Tammy at 323-672-0644 or send the form. She'll set up a short call to hear about your family.

  2. Interview in your home

Meet Ms. Tammy where your child is most comfortable. Ask anything and see how she connects with your little one.

  3. References

Talk with families she has cared for before you decide.

  4. Paid trial days

A few paid days together before anyone commits, so you and your child can be sure.

  5. Written year agreement

Hours, overtime, paid time off, sick time and how you'll communicate, all in writing for at least one year.

About pricing

Ms. Tammy shares her rate during your consultation, based on your hours and the number of children. Families who hire a nanny directly are household employers (W-2 payroll), and a payroll service can handle that part for you.

Questions families ask

Good questions, honest answers.

Are you background checked?

Ask Ms. Tammy about her TrustLine status on your interview call (current status: Ask Ms. Tammy). TrustLine is California's registry for in-home caregivers, cleared through DOJ and FBI fingerprints and the Child Abuse Central Index. Nannies hired directly by a family register voluntarily, and you can check any caregiver's status yourself at 800-822-8490.

Do you have CPR and First Aid?

Yes. CPR/AED for adults, children and infants plus First Aid, through American Health Care Academy: completed September 2025 and valid through September 2027. The certificate is linked on her credentials page, and its QR code lets you check it with the issuer.

What's your education?

An Associate in Arts in Child Development: Early Childhood Education from Long Beach City College (conferred June 2025, graduated with honors), plus LBCC certificates in Early Childhood Education (Assistant Teacher and Associate Teacher) and Family Child Care Management, and Teacher Assistant hours at the LBCC Child Development Center with children ages 0 to 5. Every document is linked on her credentials page.

What does a day look like?

There's a sample day on this page: arrival, breakfast, learning and outdoor play, lunch, nap, free play and storytime. It flexes to your child's own rhythm, interests and developmental needs.

How will I know how my child's day went?

Ms. Tammy keeps you posted by text through the day: meals, naps, moods and what your little one explored, with photos if you would like them. You choose how much detail you want.

What if my child is sick, or you are?

Your written agreement spells out the sick policy: when a child should stay home and what happens if Ms. Tammy is unwell. Either way, she tells you as early as possible so you can plan.

How do you handle sleep and feeding?

Babies sleep on their backs, on a firm, flat surface with no soft bedding, following American Academy of Pediatrics safe-sleep guidance. For meals, Ms. Tammy follows your feeding plan and any allergy plan, including baby-led weaning if that's your approach.

What does it cost and how does the agreement work?

Ms. Tammy shares her rate during your consultation, because it depends on your hours and how many children are in care. She works on a written agreement of at least one year that covers hours, overtime, paid time off, sick time and how you will communicate. Families who hire a nanny directly are household employers (W-2 payroll), and a payroll service can handle that for you.

Can we do a trial?

Yes. Paid trial days come before any year agreement, so you and your child can be sure it is the right fit.

Are you licensed?

Ms. Tammy is a nanny. She cares for your children in your own home, one family at a time. She is not a daycare facility.
